Zwipe’s new COO Orlando Martinez has an extensive background in bringing innovative biometric technology to market and driving international business expansion and organizational development.

In 1999 he cofounded SecuriMetrics, a biometrics company that revolutionized identity management systems used by the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Intelligence communities, the company was acquired by L-1 Identity Solutions and merged into Safran’s MorphoTrust, today a leading identity solutions and services company in the U.S. At SecuriMetrics, Martinez was part of the team that started and scaled the company until sales reached approx. USD 50 million in 2007, at which point the company was sold and merged into a larger unit to strengthen growth capabilities. For 12 years, from 1999 to 2011, Martinez led a variety of operational, marketing, sales and business development positions at his first biometric venture, before he joined CGI Federal as the Director of Applied Technology & Cyber Solutions. He spent 4 years at CGI managing the CGI Security practice which included biometric based intellectual property as well as the Cyber Security offerings. Martinez joins Zwipe from IT performance management company Snarf Networks where he was the SVP of Business Development.
John Laws joins Zwipe with over 15 years of sales experience working with major accounts in the Access Control industry at industry giants HID and Honeywell. Prior to his career in the security industry he was a decorated infantryman in the British Army. His exemplary track record and diverse international network make him an ideal representative for Zwipe in key target markets all over Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

CANNES, FRANCE 2 December 2016 - Zwipe participated in Cartes Trustech this week, one of the world's most prominent card technology and payment industry exhibitions. Senior executives from over 130 countries flocked to Cannes to participate in a week of intensive forums and discussions about some of the industry’s most pressing topics. Lantto was most recently the CEO of Fingerprint Cards AB, a Swedish high-tech company that designs and manufactures biometric system solutions. Before that he also served as the company’s CTO and head of strategy and product management. During his tenure, Fingerprint Cards grew from a small company to one of the largest companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, taking a strong position in the global market. Prior to Fingerprint Cards, he held a range of senior executive positions at global ICT company Ericsson.

OSLO, NORWAY and SHENZHEN, CHINA - 31 October 2016- Biometric tech company Zwipe and Kuang-Chi establishes joint venture to create commercial platform in China for Zwipe's ground-breaking biometric authentication technology, the first and only fingerprint technology to operate without batteries.
Zwipe. a biometric tech company and a global leader in biometric authentication technology, today announced an agreement to form a joint venture with China-based, high-tech company Kuang-Chi Group.
Kuang-Chi invests in disruptive innovations worldwide including technology applied to aerospace, near space exploration, internet banking as well as the security industry. Two of the group's subsidiaries are listed companies that invest in cutting-edge technology concepts that are in the development and/or initial commercialization phases.
"This joint venture confirms our strong position in the rapidly evolving biometric sector" said Kim Kristian Humborstad, CEO and founder of Zwipe. "Establishing this joint venture extends the strong cooperation with Kuang-Chi and amplifies our go-to-market strategy for our product portfolio towards the Chinese market. Zwipe and Kuang-Chi will hold 49% and 51% of the joint venture, respectively. Via the joint venture, Kuang-Chi's investment in Zwipe technology rises to USD 8.9 million.
During 2016, Kuang-Chi has also launched the Global Community of Innovation (GCI) Network. The GCI Network will receive the full support of Kuang-Chi’s corporate resources, from sales and marketing to joint tech development.
